Side-channel compressors keep liquids in aquacultures and dipping baths in motion


Side channel compressors ensure sufficient movement of liquids in immersion baths and aquacultures. The side channel compressors make the diving processes more effective and promote growth.

The permanent blowing in of compressed air and the outflow of this air at the basin floor, brings movement into the liquids of the basins. The target position for aquaculture is different from that for dipping tanks of industrial production.

Application – Aquaculture:

In the case of aquacultures, a continuous transformation of the culture must be ensured. The reason for this is to supply the culture with oxygen or to ensure that the concentration of the nutrient solution in the basin is evenly distributed and maintained at all points. Aquaculture feeds on the nutrients contained in the solution. Side channel compressors are able to produce compressed air in continuous operation. The compressed air is conducted through pipe or hose lines to the bottom of the liquid basins, where it is divided into fine bubbles of air by means of vents. The nutritive solution is kept in motion by the outflowing, rising air and is evenly distributed in the basin. Aquaculture has the same growth conditions at every point in the pool, as the concentrations in the nutrient solution are always the same.

Here, the reader sees that the compressed air of the side channel compressors is blown out at the bottom of the basin. The air is first directed to the air outlets via hose or pipe systems and then divided into small gas bubbles. The ascending vesicles swirl the liquid and thus ensure an even distribution of the concentration.

Application – industrial dipping tank:

Surfaces can be sealed or finished by dipping. The solid components of the immersion bath fluid adhere to the surface of the workpiece and seal it. This effect is used to protect materials against corrosion or to achieve refining effects or to harden surfaces. Thus there are typical applications in oil baths, acid baths, dye baths. Side channel compressors also blow compressed air into the baths. The compressed air is conducted through pipelines to the bottom of the immersion baths and pressed through the vent. The effluents comminute the resulting bubbles into smaller bubbles. This causes an increase in the swirling effect in the water. The swirling is wanted. It causes liquid to move around the workpieces to be treated and thus the entire workpiece surface is wetted. The turbulence generated will make this process faster, more effective.
